About the events

What is AWS HouseWarming?

AWS HouseWarming is a learning and community-building event organized by enthusiasts on the AWS team for AWS customers and the cloud computing community. It is run in Hamburg on June 4, 2025 - the day before the AWS Summit Hamburg. This public, free-of-charge, in-person event features over 60 hands-on workshops across two shifts (morning and afternoon) where participants can build and learn under the guidance of AWS Solutions Architects and Technical Trainers of AWS partners.

Who should attend AWS HouseWarming?

AWS workshops are a perfect learning experience for hands-on people and folks who want to experience first hand how to build on AWS, such as software developers, software architects, administrators and ops engineers, IT executives, and technical decision makers. Participants have the opportunity to work through hands-on labs and build on AWS under the guidance of the instructors. AWS HouseWarming is a great opportunity for community-building and networking, too.

What topics will be covered by the workshops at AWS HouseWarming?

Workshops cover several hot topics that we know are relevant to customers, such as AI/ML, Generative AI, Application Modernization, Business Applications, Containers, Cloud Operations and Governance, Data and Analytics, IoT, Networking, NextGen Developer Experience, SaaS, SAP, Security, Serverless, and Sustainability.

Where does AWS HouseWarming take place?

AWS HouseWarming takes place in Hamburg in various office buildings across the city. We are extremely honored that workshops will not only run in AWS offices, but also in offices of several equally enthusiastic AWS partners and AWS customers. All involved venues are located within the city of Hamburg and the break between the morning shift and the afternoon shift is long enough to have lunch and easily move between venues.

What do participants have to bring?

Participants only need to bring their laptops and an appetite for learning and networking. For some workshops it’s helpful to have a smartphone. AWS facilitators bring AWS accounts for everyone to run through the workshop labs.

When does AWS HouseWarming take place?

AWS HouseWarming takes place on June 4, 2025 - the day before the AWS Summit in Hamburg. Workshops are run in two shifts: The morning shift from 10:00 to 13:00 and the afternoon shift from 15:00 to 18:00. A break of 2 hours between the shifts leaves enough time for lunch and to move on to the next venue. Participants are welcome to join a workshop in each shift.

What does it cost to join AWS HouseWarming?

Participants can join a workshop in the morning shift and another workshop in the afternoon shift, all free-of-charge. However, as the meeting rooms we use to run the workshops have limited seats, we require a registration and allow only as many participants as there are seats available.

Will participants be offered drinks and food?

Participants will be provided with free drinks, such as coffee, tee, and water, as well as free snacks. However, there is no full lunch and dinner catering following the shifts. Participants who join both shifts can use the two-hour break between them for lunch outside, and to move over to the afternoon venue.

When should participants arrive and leave a venue?

For every shift, participants should arrive at the venue 15 to at most 30 minutes before a workshop starts, to allow enough time at the reception for check-in. When a workshop ends, participants should leave the venue within 30 minutes, so the hosts have an opportunity to prepare for the next shift, or call it a day, respectively.
